As an advertiser, you can add your own Promotion/Promotion Code. The proper use of promotional codes can make a significant contribution to achieving various objectives. Thanks to dedicated promotion codes, you as an advertiser have better insight and control over the distribution of your promotion. Where necessary, the distribution can be strongly focused and the 'wandering' of the promotional code on the Internet is prevented. With this development, Daisycon offers a tool for precision marketing.
What is a promotional code?
A promotional code is a code that allows your customers to receive a certain benefit. A promotional code is often called discount code or action code. Most e-commerce systems support, in general, the use of different types of promotional codes. The promotional code can be placed as a consumer offer by your affiliated publishers on their websites. Offering a promotional code with a good promotion can provide a lot of extra sales.
Starting with promotional codes is easy
As an advertiser, you can add promotional codes yourself. Go to 'Materials' > 'Promotions', select the right campaign and choose the option 'Add promotion' at the top right. You have the option to add different types of promotions / promotion codes.
General settings
General settings of the promotion:
- Language: Language of the promotion.
- Promotion Name: Name of the promotion, set a short but clear name for the promotion code. For example: "10% Discount on entire collection"
- Annual Event: Specific event the promotion belongs to, it is mandatory to select an event, if there is nothing suitable choose Winter/Spring/Summer or Autumn.
- Description: Description of the promotion aimed at consumers.
Promotion details
Set here what type of promotion it is (discount rate, free shipping, other) and provide a start and end date and the code if necessary.
- Type: what type of promotion is involved, choose from: Discount amount, Discount percentage, Free product, Free shipping, Stack discount and Other
- Code: is a code required, if yes it can be entered here.
Start date: Date on which the promotion starts - End date: Date the promotion ends
- Publisher visibility: When the publisher will see the promotion (this can be earlier than the start date to inform the publisher in time).
Terms & Conditions
Indicate here any additional conditions of the promotion, think of things like minimum order value.
Landing page (destination)
Select a landing page for this promotion or use the Campaign's main page.
Targeting
- Target countries: If the campaign targets multiple countries, the country for the promotion can be selected here.
Available for: Which publisher may use the promotion:
- Option 1: Everyone: This promotion code can be used by all publishers affiliated with you. This option is commonly used to generate a wide reach.
- Option 2: Dedicated to Daisycon: this promotion code can only be used by publishers affiliated with Daisycon.*
- Option 3: Dedicated to one publisher: this promotional code can only be used by one specific publisher*.
*To use the dedicated promotional codes, you as an advertiser also need to adjust your conversion pixel. Need help? Please contact your channel manager.
Once created, the promotion code is immediately available to your publishers. They can place the promotion code on their media and use it to promote your website. If a visitor enters the unique promotion code when placing an order, the publisher will receive compensation.
Dedicated promotion codes
With Dedicated promotion codes, the transaction is always assigned to one single publisher. With this so called 'Dedicated voucher tracking' you can have more possibilities then with normal tracking. Whereas normally a transaction could only be traced to a click, a dedicated promotion code opens the door to measuring without a click. So you can benefit from publishers promoting in different ways offline.
Dedicated to one publisher
To prevent third-party misuse of the promotional code, as an advertiser you can use the 'Dedicated to one publisher' option. If you choose this option, only a publisher selected by you will be assigned the transaction in which the dedicated promotion code was used. So it doesn't matter if this publisher generated the last click.
Dedicated to Daisycon
If you choose "Dedicated to Daisycon", the compensation is always allocated to the publisher who was last involved in the transaction. This only applies to publishers within Daisycon's network, regardless of whether publishers from other networks are active with the promotion code.
Measure promotion code in the conversion pixel
To measure the promotion code in the conversion pixel, it is necessary to include it in the promotion code parameter: [&pr=]. For several e-commerce systems, Daisycon has standard solutions available in which the promotion code is already included in the conversion.

Please note! The conversion pixel and Dedicated Promotion Codes can not be used in combination with a LCC script.
