Daisycon has developed a Shopify app to implement the tracking pixel in a Shopify webshop. This is the easiest solution for advertisers to implement tracking in their Shopify webshop.
The Daisycon Shopify App can be found here: apps.shopify.com/daisycon. Make sure you are logged in to your Shopify store and then click on 'Add app'. You will be redirected to your App installation page of your Shopify store. Click on 'Install app'. Login with your Daisycon user credentials.
Setup of the Daisycon app
Campaign selection
- All advertiser accounts to which your user-account has access to will be available. Select the advertiser account in which the campaign is available. Most often there is only one advertiser account available.
- Select the correct campaign.
Option to set variable commissions
The product level conversion pixel in the Daisycon app has the possibility to set variable commissions based on the Shopify ‘Product Type’ attribute. The compensation code field in the conversion pixel is automatically populated with this product attribute attribute. There is currently no other standard attribute available within Shopify to use for the compensation code. This feature allows you to offer different commissions for different types of products, giving you greater flexibility and control over your affiliate program.
Transaction ID / Order-ID
The order-number will not be available anymore for apps on the thankyou page. For the transaction-id variable, 'Order-ID' is used instead of the 'Order-number'. This order-id is pre-filled with 'id_' in the conversion pixel. This means that the transaction-id looks different then the actual order-number in your Shopify order overview. You can find the corresponding order by searching for the id (without id_) in your order overview. The Shopify order export contains a column called 'Id' that contains the Order-ID.
First-order (new customer) commission tracking
The app can identify first-time customers with a compensation code, so you can configure a higher commission for new customer acquisition in Daisycon. Shopify determines whether an order is a customer's first order, so no additional setup is needed in Shopify itself. Enable first-order commission tracking and choose one of the two options below.
Option 1: Separate new customer commission part (recommended)
This option adds one extra commission part to a first order, carrying the full order value under its own compensation code (recommended value: 'new-customer'). All existing product compensation codes on that order stay exactly as they are. This means that if you already differentiate commissions per product type using the compensation code field, that setup keeps working unchanged. In MyDaisycon you only need to add a single extra commission row for the 'new-customer' code.
Option 2: Prefix existing compensation codes
This option prepends a prefix (recommended value: 'n_') to every product's compensation code on a first order, so for example electronics becomes n_electronics. Because this replaces the codes themselves instead of adding a separate part, it has a bigger impact if you already differentiate commissions per product type using the compensation code field: for every existing code you'll need to add a duplicate row in MyDaisycon with the prefix added, e.g. both electronics and n_electronics, clothing and n_clothing, and so on. Only choose this option if you're able to set up and maintain these duplicate rows.
For both options you can use the recommended compensation code or set a custom one. Only set a custom code if you've configured a matching code in MyDaisycon. When using the 'Separate new customer commission part' option, you can also set the description shown for the new commission part.

Automation of transaction validation
The app has automation of transaction validation functionality implemented. You can enable this feature. Fill in the number of days after you would like to run the automatic order validation. Take the number of days into account the customer can return their order for example. The app will automatically approve or disapprove transactions based on their order status in Shopify. The app can also process partly returned orders and only disapprove a single product for example.

Test conversion pixel
After a developer has implemented the conversion pixel or if you have activated one of our standard solutions, the functioning of the conversion pixel needs to be tested. To do this, follow the steps from the following FAQ article: How to test the conversion pixel (tracking implementation)?
