The Security section allows you to manage login credentials and account security. Here, you can update your password, enable two-factor authentication (2FA), and manage active sessions.
Key actions in Security:
- Username: Change your username.
- Change Password: Change your password.
- Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): Enable or disable 2FA for extra security.
- Logout from all devices: Log out from all active sessions if needed.
- Revoke export tokens: If you've shared export links with others, you can revoke access by resetting the export tokens.
- Connected logins: Use your Google account to login to MyDaisycon.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is mandatory for all accounts in MyDaisycon to enhance security. Follow the steps below to enable 2FA quickly and easily.
Steps to Enable 2FA
- Log in to your MyDaisycon account and navigate to Settings > Security in the left-hand menu.
- Under Login, click on 2-step verification. A window will appear with the option to "Setup two factor authentication now".
- An email will be sent to your registered email address. Open the email and click the verification link.
- A QR code will appear on your screen. Use an authenticator app (e.g., Google Authenticator or Authy) to scan the QR code. You can download these apps via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
- After scanning, the app will generate a 6-digit code. Enter this code in the field in MyDaisycon and then click "Verify setup".
- Your account is now protected with Two-Factor Authentication. Each time you log in from an unknown device, you will need to enter a verification code generated by your authenticator app.
Troubleshooting Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
To avoid entering your Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) code every time you log in, follow these tips:
- Select the option "Remember this device" when entering your 2FA code. This keeps you logged in on trusted devices.
- Avoid clearing your browser's cookies, as this deletes your login session and requires re-authentication.
- Use regular browsing mode instead of Incognito/Private mode, to retain your session.
If you need to temporarily disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) – for example, to change your authenticator app – follow one of the methods below. Note that you must enable 2FA again after disabling it to maintain account security.
Route 1: Via MyDaisycon Settings
- Log in to your MyDaisycon account.
- Go to Settings in the menu and click on Security.
- Under Login, select 2-step verification.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to disable 2FA. You will be prompted to enter a valid 2FA code to confirm.
Route 2: During Login
- When prompted to enter your authentication code during login, click on "Other Methods".
- Choose the option to reset 2FA by clicking the 2fa_reset button.
- An email will be sent to your registered email address. Follow the instructions in the email to disable 2FA temporarily.
Once you have completed the changes, re-enable 2FA immediately to protect your account.
Forgot Password Troubleshooting
If you forgot your password and experience issues resetting it (e.g., expired tokens or invalid reset links), follow the steps below to reset your password successfully.
Request a Password Reset
- Go to the login page.
- Click on "Forgot password?".
- Enter your registered email address and click "Request new password".
Additional tips for common login issues
- Expired Token: If you receive an "expired token" error after clicking the reset password link, note that reset links are valid for 15 minutes. Use the link immediately. If you request multiple links, wait about an hour due to a time lock before trying again.
- Browser and Cache Issues: Clear your browser's cookies and cache.
- Use regular browsing mode instead of Incognito/Private mode or a secure browser.
- Time Synchronization: Ensure your computer's time settings are correct. Incorrect time settings can cause the reset token to become invalid.
